Dr Danijela Rajter-Ćirić

She was born in Novi Sad in 1973. She graduated from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad in 1996. She defended her PhD thesis at the Faculty of Sciences, Novi Sad in 2002. She was appointed Assistant Professor in 2002, Associate Professor in 2007, and Full Professor in 2012 at the same faculty. She teaches the following courses: Probability at the bachelor level of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Stochastic Analysis at the master level of Applied Mathematics, Stochastic Processes at the master level of Applied Mathematics – Data Science and Probability Theory and Generalized Stochastic Processes at the doctoral level of Mathematics.

Her research interests focus on Deterministic and Stochastic Differential Equations with integer-order derivatives or with fractional order derivatives and their applications. In 2000 she obtained the OeAD (Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalization) scholarship and spent 2000/01 at the University of Innsbruck working on her doctoral dissertation. She has published more than 20 scientific papers, 1 book, and 1 textbook. In 2004 she received an award given to successful researchers by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. She participated in numerous international conferences and was a member of organizing committees for several international conferences organized in Novi Sad. During her research career, she has participated in several national and international scientific projects.

From 2012 to 2021 she was the vice director of the Department of Mathematics and Informatics, and from 2019 to 2021 she was the President of the Council of the unit of Mathematics at the same department. She has been the coordinator of the master’s study program Applied Mathematics at the Faculty of Science in Novi Sad since 2016. She has been a member of the Expert Council for Natural and Mathematical Sciences of the University of Novi Sad since 2019 and of the Expert Council for Applied Statistics of the University of Novi Sad since 2012.

Dr Danijela Rajter-Ćirić mentored one defended doctoral dissertation, 2 magister theses and 13 master theses. She has been a member of the Education Committee of the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (ECMI) since 2016. With the students of the master’s study program Applied Mathematics, she participated several times in ECMI modeling weeks, which bring together students of applied and industrial mathematics across Europe.
