Dr Ljubica Ivanović Bibić
Ljubica Ivanović Bibić was born in Novi Sad in 1981. She graduated from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, in 2005 and defended her Ph.D. thesis at the same institution in 2012. She was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2012, Associate Professor in 2017, and Full Professor in 2022 at the Faculty of Sciences, Novi Sad.
She teaches the following courses:
- Bachelor’s level (Geography): School Practice, Teaching Aids and Resources for Geography, and Teaching in Nature.
- Master’s level (Geography): Application of Didactical Principles in Geography Teaching, Methods of Geography Teaching 2, and School Practice 2.
- Master’s level (Tourism – Teacher Module): Innovative Methods in Conducting Practical Teaching.
- Doctoral Studies (Geographic Sciences): Population Policy and Family Planning.
- Doctoral Studies (Teaching Methods of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Computer Science): Geography in Curricula and Programs in the World and Serbia, Methods of Geography Teaching in Working with Gifted Students, and Professional Development of Geography Teachers in the World and Serbia.
Her scientific interests focus on geography teaching methods, the application of didactical principles in education, and demographic challenges. She is a co-author of over 100 scientific papers, 26 of which have been published in M20 journals. She has also co-authored four textbooks, two practicums, and one handbook for teacher training students.
Ljubica Ivanović Bibić has been involved in 11 projects (three international), including leading one national project. She has participated in numerous international conferences and was a member of the organizing committee of an international conference at the Faculty of Sciences, Novi Sad. In November 2019, she was an invited participant at the Open Dialogue: Opportunities and Challenges in Training Future Educators workshop at Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany.
From 2013 to 2020, she was a member of the Commission for Professional Exams for Teachers, Educators, and Professional Associates in Geography in Vojvodina. Since 2007, she has conducted numerous seminars for the professional development of geography teachers.
Since 2019, she has been a member of:
- The Expert Commission for Reviewing Textbook Manuscripts and Textbook Sets for Geography (National Education Council).
- The Expert Commission for Assessing Geography Textbook Quality in Primary and Secondary Schools (Institute for the Improvement of Education, Belgrade).
- The Review Commission for Assessing Compliance with Standards of Higher Education Institutions and Study Programs (National Body for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education).
In 2020, she became an associate member of the Department of Social Sciences of Matica Srpska.
Ljubica Ivanović Bibić has mentored one defended doctoral dissertation, 17 master’s theses, and six bachelor’s theses. She is an active member of the Society of Subject Didactics of Serbia, the Society of Geographers of Vojvodina, and the Society of Demographers of Serbia.
